Turning Timber Into Protection for Every Shipment

About Union Sustainable Packaging Solutions

PalletBiz UAE, operated by Union Sustainable Packaging Solutions, is a Dubai-based manufacturer of wooden pallets, crates, boxes and dunnage, and the UAE franchise of PalletBiz, an international packaging network active in 13 countries across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Wholly owned by the M.A.H.Y. Khoory Group and operational since 2024, it is built on a clear principle: packaging should be designed around the goods it carries.

Every order begins with the cargo: its weight, its shape, the surfaces that must be protected and the borders it must cross. From its plant in Al Quoz, PalletBiz UAE produces standard pallets in volume for manufacturers that require the same specification every week, and engineers one-off crates for single items of heavy or sensitive equipment. Packaging is also repaired, and bought back once customers no longer need it.

From its UAE base, PalletBiz UAE supplies manufacturers and exporters across industry, building to the designs, training and standards shared across the PalletBiz network.

An Integrated Group Ecosystem

Behind NPI's production is an integrated M.A.H.Y. Khoory Group ecosystem. Each stage of the journey is supported by a dedicated Group company or division.

Recovered

Since 2009, the Group's Solid Waste Management Division has built a wood collection network of around 160 source points across the UAE, from carpentry workshops and manufacturers to ports and free zones, and Green Arabia adds the wood it collects from its own customers. Every delivery is inspected, and the best of the wood is processed into chips for Union Wood Works.

Pressed

At Union Wood Works, the wood chips are blended with wax and pressed under heat into composite wood blocks, the feet on which a pallet stands. The wax helps the blocks resist moisture and mould, and each is cut to the length the pallet design requires.

Union Wood Works
Built

PalletBiz UAE first designs each order around the goods it must carry: their weight, their shape and the borders they must cross.

Timber is planed and sawn to size, and boards and blocks, including UWW's composite wood blocks, are joined on pneumatic nailing tables.

Finally, timber for export is heat-treated and stamped to ISPM-15 on site, and the finished packaging is delivered to manufacturers and exporters across the UAE.

Returned

Once in service, pallets and packaging are bought back from customers, repaired on PalletBiz UAE's own repair line and returned to service. Of the 380 m³ of packaging waste produced at the plant in 2025, 295 m³ was recycled or recovered.

Wood that can no longer be repaired is put back to productive use as fuel for the boilers at Union Paper Mills.

Together, these capabilities create a practical circular model: wood is recovered locally, pressed into composite wood blocks and built into packaging in the UAE, and put back to productive use when its working life ends.

Environmental Responsibility In Practice

Sustainability is part of the company's registered name, and the plant is measured against it. By producing packaging in the UAE, repairing and reusing it, and recovering its wood at the end of its life, PalletBiz UAE supports local value creation, a resource-efficient industrial economy and the Make it in the Emirates agenda.

Timber

Responsibly sourced

PalletBiz UAE works to source its timber from verified forests through responsible forestry and trade, carrying FSC, PEFC or SFI certification, and asks its suppliers to sign the PalletBiz Code of Conduct.

Reuse

Repaired and returned to service

Pallets are returned or bought back from customers, repaired on the plant's own repair line and sent out again.

Waste

Put back to productive use.

Wood waste from production is sorted and recycled or repurposed, so that it becomes a secondary raw material for further use.

Packaging Engineered for the Task

Every shipment presents its own requirements. These three projects show how PalletBiz UAE engineers packaging for goods that are too heavy, too delicate or too unusual for a standard solution. Client names are withheld for confidentiality.

Heavy machinery parts secured in an export crate

Industrial machinery, UAE, 2025

Export Crating for Heavy Machinery Parts

A machinery manufacturer was shipping heavy parts to customers worldwide, where damage in transit led to replacements, delays and an unreliable supply chain. PalletBiz UAE engineered crates and pallets around the parts themselves, heat-treated them to ISPM-15 for export and designed them for cost-effective container loading. Transit damage was eliminated, reducing replacement costs, and delivery times were shortened.

Wooden export crates stored in a warehouse

Energy, UAE, 2025

Compliant Packaging for Energy Equipment

An energy company required durable packaging for equipment that would be stored before export. PalletBiz UAE supplied heat-treated wooden boxes and pallets, produced in Dubai and compliant with ISPM-15, improving storage safety and export compliance. Local production delivered a faster turnaround at lower cost.

Measuring a custom support for an irregular unit

Security technology, UAE, 2026

Custom Packaging for an 800 kg Security Unit

An 800 kg unit, irregular in shape, powder-coated and fitted with an electronic system, had to travel by road to Jordan. The team surveyed the customer's plant, took every measurement and designed a pallet and supports that held the unit securely on all sides. It arrived undamaged, and the customer has indicated further orders.

Wooden Packaging and Packing Services

From weekly volumes of standard pallets to single crates for export, PalletBiz UAE produces wooden packaging for customers in petrochemicals, electrical and cable manufacturing, chemicals and paint, defence, FMCG, paper and metal fabrication.

Packing Services

At the plant or on site

Export packing carried out at the plant or at the customer's own site by the team that built the packaging.

"Packaging is rarely the most expensive part of a shipment, but it decides whether everything else arrives. We compete on reliability, not on price, because our customers cannot afford a shipment that fails."

Quality Assured at Every Stage

Producing a pallet is only part of the service. Delivering the right packaging to the right place, on time and with the correct documentation, requires a dependable partner.

Export Compliance

Most countries admit wooden packaging only if it has been heat-treated against pests under the ISPM-15 standard. PalletBiz UAE treats and stamps its timber on site and supplies the documentation with it, so that shipments are not held at a border because of their packaging.

Local Production

All packaging is produced in Al Quoz, on two shifts. Packaging manufactured in Dubai is delivered sooner, and at lower cost, than packaging that must be imported.

Network Standards

The plant operates the same pneumatic nailing tables, designs and training as PalletBiz operations abroad, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman, so that customers shipping across the Gulf deal with one network.

Published Standards

Quality guidelines for timber and finished goods are published, together with the terms of sale and the supplier code of conduct, so that customers know exactly what they are buying before placing an order.

Total Cost, Not Unit Price

PalletBiz UAE does not set out to be the lowest-priced supplier. It sets out to reduce the total cost of packaging to the customer: fewer damage claims, no shipments held for compliance, and one partner accountable for all of it.
